The Difference

We've had a few requests regarding the real difference is between the waterslide decals you find on eBay and other sites vs. our nail decal stickers. To put it simply, the difference is huge. Here's a handy guide to help explain the differences.

Waterslide Decals are Just a Mess

We were market leaders in waterslide decals for years. They serve a purpose, definitely; however, they are messy. Dabbing water here, drying there, leaving your decal in the water too long - all can affect the final finish and polish of your design. They also do not stick to your nail if they are wet. This can be a real pain if you are dealing with cheaper waterslide material (which is the norm from the home made sellers) that after 4-5 months, no longer conforms to the nail.

Our nail art decal stickers however require no water. You simply press them onto your nail and they stick immediately. We're not just talking about a tacky stick - the adhesive is high grade and will cling to your fingernails as long as you wish - even under water! The finish is also UV resistant (i.e., sunlight and heat) - so they last for a quite awhile.

Waterslide Decals are Difficult to Cut

Waterslide decals are not pre-cut. You have to 'trim as closely around the edges as you can'. This is because the creators of these decals are making them by simply printing their design onto waterslide paper - from an inkjet printer. They simply don't have the ability to pre-cut.

Our nail art decal stickers are pre-cut. This means no scissors required! You simply peel the sticker away from the backing paper and you're all set. Easy right?

Where's the White Color?

Almost all waterslide decals contain no white ink; so if you see a design that contains white color, your design will actually be clear - forcing you to paint your nail white (to allow the white ink to show through the clear design). That's no fun!

Our nail art decal stickers however, do contain white ink! That's right - if you see a white color in one of our designs, rest assured your decal will contain white. You can safely paint your nails any color you'd like.

Ink Vibrancy

Homemade waterslide decals are typically made with a run of the mill inkjet printer. That's right - just like the one you probably have at home. Inkjet inks are also translucent - that is, they allow light to pass through freely. When applied to waterslide paper, this ink creates a lackluster image and if you have medium to dark polish on, your image will all but disappear. In addition, waterslide decal ink is water soluable. That means, water will desolve the ink unless the decal is treated with harsh chemicals.

Not so with our nail art decal stickers. Our inks are not translucent, and are not inkjet inks. In fact, our printer is an industrial grade machine that only uses the best and most expensive and vibrant inks available. The best part? Our inks are eco-friendly, non-toxic, and we use no harsh chemicals to seal our products.

What About Thickness?

Our nail art decal stickers are as thick as the waterslide material. They lay flat on the nail and after a few coats of light polish, they blend seamlessly. Of course, this takes some practice, but that's why we always include more than 30 decals with every order, in a variety of sizes.

So, with all of that against waterslide decals, why continue to waste your precious time and money with such an inferior product? The answer, you shouldn't.

As we mentioned, we used to manufacture the same waterslide decals available all over the Web - but quickly realized how inferior of a product it really is. That is why we invented our nail art decal stickers.

Here are some of our unique designs! We can make anything a nail decal. Visit our store for more beautiful and unique nail art decal stickers.
