Pregnancy Loss Awareness Oct. 15 2014

Hello everyone,

October is  Infant and Pregnancy loss awareness month. On the 15th we honor the memory of our beautiful angels that have left us too soon. Some left before we even knew they were there, some withing the first trimester, some left us in the second trimester, like our twins Aaron and Aiden who were born at 18 1/2 weeks into the pregnancy due to TTTS. Forever they will be in our hearts. And some angels that were born sleeping or passed in NICU or from any illness. These designs are not about making money but about raising awareness.

To all the bereaved mothers out there #breakthesilence and show your support and awareness about Infant and Pregnancy Loss.

You can find us at;

These are just a few of our designs;

The one below was designed specifically for twin loss for #aaronandaiden

Thinking of all the bereaved mothers out there. We know your pain.

Nail Decals and Stickers – Should I?

Nail decals and stickers are a great way to dress up your mani (and pedi!). Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love to stick a few decals over a dry fresh coat of polish to see the awesome (and temporary) change?
Sometimes though, you may want that temporary decal to last a bit longer. Well, here’s a few tips for protecting that gorgeous new polish and decal, at the same time!

First, a more fashionable piece of advice when using nail decals and stickers – don’t put all of the designs in a pack on at once! You may be tempted to, but sometimes less is more, plus you will have extras to do this all over again later.

Applying the decals

Start off by choosing the decal that fits best on your nails. Our Nail Decal Stickers come in three varied sizes, suitable for most nail sizes. For a thumb or big toe, we recommend using the larger size decals on the top row of the sheet. For the index, ring, and middle fingers, give the middle size decals a try. For the pinkie, you guessed it – give the smallest size a try. Make sure your nails are dry and clean before applying any decals!

Fun fact – the pinkie size is perfect for child size nails as well!

Tip: when applying your decals, pay attention to the base coat colors on your nails and the decal colors. For best results, we find that a complimentary color combination (between the base coat and decal color) creates a really pretty blend. That’s not to say that you have to stick to that of course! Feel free to try contrasting color schemes too if that’s your thing!

Protecting the decals (and your mani)

Once the decal is on your nail, they stick very well and are waterproof. If you are using waterslide decals, this is not the case as water will strip them off in a heartbeat. If you’re using our decal stickers, you’re safe. Sometimes though, an added coat or two of protective nail polish will protect the decal for two weeks or more! The catch? You have to pick the right top coat.

We have found that not all top coats are the same. Many have different chemicals and ingredients that can protect as well as harm your polish, decals, and skin! We suggest picking a top coat that 1) is within your budget, and 2) has a solid reputation for being reliable. The best source for this is, believe it or not, checking what your local nail salon uses. This is a great way to find quality products. If all else fails, we suggest using a top-coat with good reviews from Amazon or similar sites, like this: Amazon Top Coat Selection.

Once you have the top-coat picked out, gently apply the first layer. You do not want to over saturate and drench your nail with top coat! It’s like painting, layer on a soft light coat first and once that dries, go for a progressively thicker coat, until you have built up about 3-5 layers. Here’s a handy YouTube video on applying the top coat: How to Apply Top Coat.

That’s pretty much it! If you take the extra time to protect your nails with a solid top-coat and don’t over do the nail decal application step, you’re guaranteed beautiful results!

The Difference

We've had a few requests regarding the real difference is between the waterslide decals you find on eBay and other sites vs. our nail decal stickers. To put it simply, the difference is huge. Here's a handy guide to help explain the differences.

Waterslide Decals are Just a Mess

We were market leaders in waterslide decals for years. They serve a purpose, definitely; however, they are messy. Dabbing water here, drying there, leaving your decal in the water too long - all can affect the final finish and polish of your design. They also do not stick to your nail if they are wet. This can be a real pain if you are dealing with cheaper waterslide material (which is the norm from the home made sellers) that after 4-5 months, no longer conforms to the nail.

Our nail art decal stickers however require no water. You simply press them onto your nail and they stick immediately. We're not just talking about a tacky stick - the adhesive is high grade and will cling to your fingernails as long as you wish - even under water! The finish is also UV resistant (i.e., sunlight and heat) - so they last for a quite awhile.

Waterslide Decals are Difficult to Cut

Waterslide decals are not pre-cut. You have to 'trim as closely around the edges as you can'. This is because the creators of these decals are making them by simply printing their design onto waterslide paper - from an inkjet printer. They simply don't have the ability to pre-cut.

Our nail art decal stickers are pre-cut. This means no scissors required! You simply peel the sticker away from the backing paper and you're all set. Easy right?

Where's the White Color?

Almost all waterslide decals contain no white ink; so if you see a design that contains white color, your design will actually be clear - forcing you to paint your nail white (to allow the white ink to show through the clear design). That's no fun!

Our nail art decal stickers however, do contain white ink! That's right - if you see a white color in one of our designs, rest assured your decal will contain white. You can safely paint your nails any color you'd like.

Ink Vibrancy

Homemade waterslide decals are typically made with a run of the mill inkjet printer. That's right - just like the one you probably have at home. Inkjet inks are also translucent - that is, they allow light to pass through freely. When applied to waterslide paper, this ink creates a lackluster image and if you have medium to dark polish on, your image will all but disappear. In addition, waterslide decal ink is water soluable. That means, water will desolve the ink unless the decal is treated with harsh chemicals.

Not so with our nail art decal stickers. Our inks are not translucent, and are not inkjet inks. In fact, our printer is an industrial grade machine that only uses the best and most expensive and vibrant inks available. The best part? Our inks are eco-friendly, non-toxic, and we use no harsh chemicals to seal our products.

What About Thickness?

Our nail art decal stickers are as thick as the waterslide material. They lay flat on the nail and after a few coats of light polish, they blend seamlessly. Of course, this takes some practice, but that's why we always include more than 30 decals with every order, in a variety of sizes.

So, with all of that against waterslide decals, why continue to waste your precious time and money with such an inferior product? The answer, you shouldn't.

As we mentioned, we used to manufacture the same waterslide decals available all over the Web - but quickly realized how inferior of a product it really is. That is why we invented our nail art decal stickers.

Here are some of our unique designs! We can make anything a nail decal. Visit our store for more beautiful and unique nail art decal stickers.
